2 Charged In October Murder Of Nassau Man: Police

Police say Rafael DeLossantos was found shot to death in Baldwin on Oct. 25. Two men have been charged in his killing.

BALDWIN, NY — Two men were arrested and charged last week in the murder of a Bladwin man in October, Nassau County police said.

Nassau County police said that just before 2 p.m. on Oct. 25, 23-year-old Rafael DeLossantos, of Baldwin, was found shot to death in the street at Victoria Street and Stanton Avenue. Police say officers were sent to the scene for a report of a car accident, but instead found DeLossantos lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.

On Dec. 10, police arrested Darin Semple, 19, of Freeport, and Devin Obleanis, 19, of Rosedale, in connection with the murder.

Both men are charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree murder. They were arraigned on Dec. 11 in First District Court in Hempstead, and both were remanded into custody.
