Barber Shop Blaze Damages Neighboring Units: Police
The fire was reported just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, police say.
VALLEY STREAM, NY. — A barber shop in Valley Stream caught fire Tuesday night, police said.
Nassau County police said they saw Tony’s Barber Shop on Merrick Road with heavy smoke and flames emanating from its building when they responded to the scene. The fire prompted response from multiple fire departments and causing sustained smoke damage to two vacant units adjoined to the barber shop.
Police reported Wednesday morning that no injuries had been reported as a result of the fire, adding that it had been deemed non-suspicious; an investigation is ongoing.
