Brooklyn Man Scams LI Woman Out Of Thousands: Police
She was told to withdraw money from her bank after a message saying her computer was compromised, police say.

EAST ROCKAWAY, NY – A Brooklyn man was arrested after he scammed a 74-year-old woman out of $117,000, police said.
According to Nassau County police, the 46-year-old man, Jinqin Jiang, was arrested on Monday and charged with third-degree attempted grand larceny and resisting arrest, police said.
He was released on an appearance ticket, but further investigation revealed that he is in the United States illegally and is subject to removal proceedings, police said.

According to police, the woman received a message that her computer was compromised; she was told to withdraw funds from her bank in order to keep her money safe, police said.
She complied and withdrew the money, but it wasn’t until after she handed it over to various unknown men that she realized she was being scammed, police said.
