Crime Watch: Hit and Runs, Stratford Home Burglary
Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

The following information was supplied by the RVC Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.
Arrests:
On May 21 at about 3 a.m., Chad M. Fortney, 32, of Franklin Square, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after pushing a female to the ground in front of 49 N. Village Ave.

Juvenile:
On May 21 at about 9:24 p.m., a 15 year-old Reeve Road resident was found to be in possession of several controlled substances behind a N. Park Avenue restaurant. The juvenile and his parent will appear in Family Court on June 6.

Leaving the Scene of an Auto Accident:
On May 21 at 12:41 p.m., a homeowner on Meadow Lane reported the front of his house was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. No one was home at the time of occurrence.
On May 21 at 5:35 p.m., a Morris Avenue resident reported her vehicle was struck by another vehicle that left the scene while it was parked in front of her home.
On May 21 at 11:04 p.m., an Island Park resident reported her vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle that left the scene while she was stopped for a red light on Oceanside Road at Merrick Road.
Larceny:
On May 16 at 10:25 a.m., an Amherst Court resident reported that unknown person(s) stole assorted jewelry from inside his home sometime between Feb. 1 at noon and May 1 at noon.
On May 17, three tenants at an apartment building on Merrick Road reported an unknown person(s) broke a side window on their vehicle and removed cash and small electronic items. All three incidents occurred during the overnight hours.
On May 18 at 7:45 p.m., a tenant of an apartment building on Merrick Road reported an unknown person broke a side window on her vehicle and removed a GPS unit and an iPod. Incident occurred between 8 p.m. on May 16 and 7:30 p.m. on May 18.
On May 19 at 6:45 p.m., a Staten Island resident reported an unknown person broke the side window on his 2010 Subaru and removed a GPS unit while it was parked on the street in front of 700 Sunrise Hwy. Incident occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 6:35 p.m.
On May 19 at 5:30 p.m., the store manager at CVS, located at 598 Merrick Rd., reported a female activated the security system as she exited the store. Upon being confronted by the manager, the female removed three pairs of reading glasses from her pocket and then fled. The incident was captured on surveillance video.
On May 19 at 1:20 p.m., a Maple Avenue resident reported an unknown person made unauthorized withdrawals from his checking account.
Criminal Mischief:
On May 19 at 5:20 a.m., a N. Village Avenue resident reported he had a dispute with a limousine driver regarding the tip after he was driven to his vehicle, which had been parked near 49 Front St. The resident reported he walked away from the limousine and then observed the limousine driver lean over his front right tire and heard his vehicle alarm sound. Upon returning to his vehicle he found the front right tire flat.
Assault:
On May 16 at 1:25 p.m., an East Meadow resident reported he was assaulted by an employee of R.J. Daniels Restaurant, located at 279 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre on May 14 at approximately midnight.
Attempted Burglary:
On May 16 at 1:27 p.m., a Capitolian Blvd. resident reported that an unknown person attempted to gain entry to her residence sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
Burglary:
On May 22 at 5:13 p.m., a Stratford Road resident reported arriving home and finding his home burglarized. Entry was made through a basement window. Unable to determine loss at this time.
