Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. At Long Island Swim School, we teach children to swim the same way the best in the world do. By using age-appropriate, proven techniques children build real skills in kick, pull, body position, and breath control. Our logical, consistent progression turns every fundamental—whether blowing bubbles or learning butterfly timing—into a building block for efficient, confident swimming. The weekend is finally here, so as you plan out how you're spending it, let us tell you what's happening in and around the village so you can start your weekend off right. 1. Find out what crimes happened in the villages surrounding RVC when Crimes Nearby posts at 2 p.m. 2. Looking for a new home in Rockville Centre? Check out House Hunt, our guide to this weekend's open houses in the village, when it posts at 10 a.m. 3. For the vintage item lover, we'll post some local garage sales happening in and around RVC this weekend. 4. Sen. Dean G. Skelos and South Nassau Communities Hospital will be offering free skin cancer screenings to help drive awareness in the community about skin safety and preventing skin cancer. The screenings will be held on the Long Beach Boardwalk today from 1-4 p.m. The screening tent will be located at the National Boulevard entrance.  5. Going to the Hamptons this weekend? We'll have a guide to all the weekend's events out east.
