BALDWIN, NY — A Baldwin man was arrested for an incident at a polling location in Oceanside on Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to the polling station at Oceanside School #3 for a dispute, police said.

Poll worker, Mark Sebesta, 54, was involved in a verbal argument and threatened a male voter, 25, police said.

Officers attempted to break up the situation, when Sebesta, who falsely identified himself as a law enforcement agent, became aggressive, authorities said.

After a brief struggle, Sebesta was placed in custody, police said.

He was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment. The voter was not injured and voting operations were not impacted, police said.

Sebesta is charged with third-degree menacing, second-degree harassment, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and second-degree criminal impersonation, police said.

He is expected to be will be arraigned on Wednesday.
