Man Repeatedly Hits Woman With His Car In Nassau Parking Lot: Police

John Ardolino faces charges that include assault and reckless endangerment, police said.

OCEANSIDE, NY — A South Hempstead man was arrested for assaulting a woman in Oceanside, police said.

On Saturday afternoon, the female victim, 28, was backing her 2011 Jeep out of a packing space on Long Beach Road, when John Ardolino, 41, began honking his 2019 Nissan, police said.

Ardolino parked his vehicle behind the victim, blocking her from leaving. He exited his Nissan and banged on the driver's side window while yelling at her, police said.

Ardolino proceeded to open the door of the woman's vehicle. He grabbed her arm and attempted to hit her with a closed fist, police said. He let go of the victim and returned to his vehicle, police said.

Ardolino started to drive, starting the victim, which forced her onto the hood, police said. He continued to use the car to strike the victim until she was thrown from the hood, authorities said.

The woman suffered neck and back pain and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Ardolino is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree menacing and leaving the scene of an incident, police said. He was expected to be arraigned on Saturday.
