Man Tries To Rob Bank On Merrick Road

The man fled the bank on foot on Monday afternoon, police say.

A man tried to rob a bank in Rockville Centre on Monday afternoon, police say.

According to authorities, the man entered TD Bank, located at 290 Merrick Road, approached the teller and passed a note demanding money at 4:49 p.m. The teller did not comply with the note.

The man then fled on foot southbound into a rear parking lot towards Lenox Road, police say.

There were seven people, five employees and two customers, inside the bank at the time of the robbery. No one was injured, police say.

Police described the attempted robber as white, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, thin build, and wearing a black knit cap, grey plaid scarf, black jacket, dark pants and black shoes.
