May 11: Alive With Arts and Village Board Recap

Wednesday is here, which means we're pretty much halfway through the work week. Get through today and the weekend is around the corner! 

1. The Village Board met last night for its general public session. Did you miss it? No worries, Patch will recap the meeting this afternoon.

2. South Side High School baseball has a chance to clinch the Conference A-II title today if they beat Hewlett. Find out tomorrow if they took home the crown!

3. Leggz dancers will be hosting a fundraiser at TD Bank on Merrick Road today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Leggz Ltd's young Japanese artists will display their watercolors along with RVC Junior Girl Scout Troop 960, who will be selling origami cranes. The proceeds will be going to the GSUSA Japan Relief Fund to aid sister Girl Scouts in Japan who have been affected by the devastating earthquake and tsunami. All of the origami cranes will be personally signed in Japanese during the event.

4. If you're going through a divorce, join others navigating the divorce process and get support, encouragement and motivation on how you can move through your situation with more ease. Located at 2896a Clark Ave. in  Oceanside, and the cost is $25 per 90 minute session.
