Question of the Day: If You Caught Jeter's 3,000th Hit, Would You Have Sold the Ball?

Let your opinion be heard.

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter eclipsed the 3,000 hit mark on Saturday with a homerun off Tampa Bay ace David Price. Jeter joins an elite group of only 27 players in Major League Baseball history to amass 3,000 hits, a feat that will surely land the Yankees icon in Cooperstown.

The fan who caught Jeter's 3,000th hit, 23-year-old Christian Lopez, did not want anything in return for surrendering the ball to Jeter. He only asked that he give it to Jeter.

Sports memorabilia auction sites say the ball could have fetched as much as $600,000 on the open market.
