Several Suffer Smoke Inhalation In Nassau House Fire: Police

LAKEVIEW, NY — Several family members were injured by a house fire on Sunday afternoon in Lakeview, police said.

Prior to the police's arrival, three adults: ages 46, 26 and 19; and a 6-year-old drove themselves to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and minor injuries, police said.

The 72-year-old homeowner was transported by ambulance to a hospital for smoke inhalation, authorities said.

The Lakeview Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. The home on Rhodes Lane sustained extensive damage, police said.

The Nassau County Fire Marshall and the Arson Bomb Squad were at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
