Village Remembers Those Lost on 9/11 With Candlelit Vigil

More than 100 people attended the annual memorial ceremony.

More than 100 people attended last Sunday's 9/11 candlelit vigil at the Village Green, which remembered the 48 residents who lost their lives that day. Local officials, like Mayor Mary Bossart spoke at the ceremony, as well as State Sen. Dean Skelos and religious leaders Fr. John McCarthy of St. Agnes and Rabbi Howard Diamond of Temple B'nai Sholom.

Next year, the village plans to hold a larger ceremony commemorating the tenth anniversary of the largest terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
