Tasty Crepes opened in the former location of Haagen-Dazs on Merrick Road and Park Avenue, and St. Mark's United Methodist Church celebrated its 140th anniversary. South Side girl's and boy's soccer opened their season, the girl's with a 5-0 win over Hewlett, and the boy's with a 1-1 tie with Baldwin. South Side football got its first win of the season with a 21-18 victory over VS South.
