This Week In Rockville Centre: Christmas Eve Bar Assault, Money Stolen From Parked Vehicles, Police Say
The Rockville Centre Police Department's first crime report of the new year includes reports on incidents between Dec. 30 and Jan. 5.
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY. — The Rockville Centre Police Department released its first crime report of the year Monday, reporting eight incidents between Dec. 30 and Jan. 5. The incidents reported are as follows:
On Dec. 30 at 2 p.m., the manager of a business on Maple Avenue reported that money had been stolen from its cash register, police said.
On Dec. 30, a woman living on Grand Avenue reported the loss of her handicapped parking permit, police said.

On Jan. 1 at 1:11 a.m., a Freeport woman said she had been punched in the face by an unknown person while in the parking lot of a hotel on Ocean Avenue, police said.
On Jan. 1 at 11:07 a.m., a Farmingdale man said a check he had received in exchange for trading cards had bounced, police said.

On Jan. 1 at 6:11 p.m., a North Baldwin woman said she had been punched in the face by an unknown woman behind a Sunrise Highway bar on Christmas Eve, suffering a broken nose, police said.
On Jan. 2, a Linden Street man reported that money had been stolen from his car while it was parked on Merrick Road, police said. The vehicle was unlocked at the time the money was reported stolen, police said.
On Jan. 2, an Oceanside man said he had been in a hit-and-run accident on South Park Avenue, with the other vehicle striking his and then fleeing the scene, police said.
On Jan. 4, just before 7 p.m., an Oceanside man said money had been stolen from his wallet, which he had left in his parked, unlocked car on North Village Avenue, police said.
