4 Rye Students Win Awards At The Regeneron 2022 WESEF

The four students bought home prizes in microbiology, Computational Bio/Bioinformatics and Behavioral & Social Sciences.

RYE, NY — Rye High School students made their mark at the 2022 Regeneron Westchester Science & Engineering Fair (WESEF) and one brought home the gold.

The fair serves area high school students who have conducted original research projects in Westchester, Putnam and Sullivan Counties and are interested in sharing their research, competing for awards and a chance to attend the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Atlanta, from May 7 - 13.

Four young scientists from Rye High School wowed the judges and won an impressive roll of awards in diverse categories.

Rye High School winners:

1st Place Awards were sponsored by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. Winners received a gold medal and $125.

  • Microbiology: Maggie Graseck

3rd Place Awards were sponsored by the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation and winners received a medallion and $75.

  • Behavioral and Social Sciences: Odessa Meulbroek
  • Computational Bio/Bioinformatics: Charles Reddoch

NASA Earth System Science Award certificates were awarded to students whose projects offered insight into Earth's interconnected systems.
