The Culture and Care of Native Trees in a Changing Landscape - A lecture by Chris Roddick

Saturday, March 16, 10:30am, at The Rye Nature Center, 873 Boston Post Road, Rye

Presented by the Little Garden Club of Rye - Free Admission

Trees are an intrinsic part of our neighborhoods and add some of the character and permanency that make our towns so appealing. But as more and more of our trees are lost to age, storms, disease, and construction damage, it is imperative that we learn how to care for and cultivate them. In conjunction with its Native Tree Sale, the Little Garden Club of Rye presents Chris Roddick of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to speak on how to choose, plant, and cultivate native trees in our gardens. Chris has been pruning, planting and inspecting trees at the BBG for 17 years. An ISA-certified arborist, Chris co-authored the BBG handbook, "The Tree Care Primer." He will share his knowledge on the best way to keep our trees healthy and the best use of native trees in our landscapes. We hope you will join us for this educational and interesting lecture.
