Election Day; Board of Education, Government Meetings

Five things you need to know to start your week, March 18, 2013.

1. Election Day is March 19

Rye Brook residents can vote in the village election on Tuesday, March 19. This year’s candidates for two trustee seats and mayor are all uncontested. Current Mayor Joan Feinstein wrote a letter to the editor, urging residents to still get out and vote to show their support to the candidates. Paul Rosenberg is running for mayor, Jason Klein and Jeffrey Reddick are running for the Board of Trustee seats. Read more on the candidates here.

2. Parent/Teacher Conference Days

3. Board of Education Meetings

The Blind Brook BOE will meet at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 18. The Rye City School District BOE will meet on Tuesday, March 19 at 8 p.m.  

The Blind Brook Board of Education will also hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 19 at 7 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office.  It is expected that they will immediately go into Executive Session and do not expect to return to public session.  The Agenda will be a discussion of teacher negotiations. 

4. City Council Meeting

The Rye City Council will meet at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.

5. Rye Town Meeting

The Rye Town Parks Commission will meet on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m. and the Rye Town Board will meet on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
