Several favorite neighborhood restaurants were included in the filming.

Not because Rubyβs had a slow breakfast and lunch crowd, but because they were being used as one several Rye Β settings for an NBC drama pilot that was filmed in Rye yesterday.
βThe Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives,β a new βsoapy thrillerβ produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Warner Bros. Television used Purchase street as its background from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.Β
βItβs pretty cool,β McDowell said, accustomed to film crews shooting in Rubyβs and around town. This was the third film crew that has rented Rubyβs this year alone, he said.

A crew of about 200 people ran the production at Rubyβs for about four hours to get a 90 second scene, McDowell said. Most of the time the actors were just walking by in front of the restaurant, he said.
βA regular customer came in and just sat at the table with the actors for a while,β McDowell said laughing. βI think they eventually noticed.β
