New MTA Schedules Go Into Effect Today

The New MTA schedules on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines start today, Aug. 19. The schedule change takes place as the MTA continues and expands work on the Bronx Right-of-Way Improvement Project. Read more here.

Rye Town Board Meeting Aug. 20

The Rye Town Board will meet in Town Hall on Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m., a half hour later than they normally begin. The Rye Town Park Commission meeting will be held next Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m.

Port Chester Board of Trustee Meetings

The BOT meeting will be held on Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. The Board will hold a workshop on Aug. 20 at 5 p.m.

Port Chester Day is Aug. 24

The event is at Lyon park from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. It features rides, music, entertainment, crafts and fun for the whole family. 

Unclaimed Lotto Ticket Expires Aug. 25

The winner of the lotto ticket sold at Playland Market in Rye a year ago will lose his or her chance to claim their $1 million win if they don’t find the ticket by Aug. 25.

The Jake Miller Band is performing at Playland on Friday, Aug. 23.

Rye Arts Center Nairobi Exhibit

The RAC opens a new exhibit Aug. 22 that features a photo essay by Regis High School senior Luke Passannante from his community service trip with St. Aloysius Gonzaga High School students in Nairobi, who have lost parents to the AIDs epidemic. He documents life in the Kibera slum, the second largest slum in sub-Sahara Africa.

Fourth Reckson Ice Rink Public Hearing Adjourned 

There is a public hearing on the Reckson ice rink proposal scheduled for Aug. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Rye Brook Village Hall, but it is expected to be adjourned until Oct. 22, at the applicant's request. The hearing has been pushed back twice while the applicant conducted further studies requested by the public and the Rye Brook Board of Trustees.

Fireworks at Playland

Wednesday Night Concerts on Adee Street

Dancing under the stars takes place on Wednesday night on Adee Street in Port Chester from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, Back to the Garden 1969, Woodstock Revival.
