📰 News we're reading

• Unattended Candle To Blame For Weekend Fire In Home, According To Fire Officials In Rye (patch.com) — Rye firefighters quickly contained a Sunday evening house fire on Douglas Circle after an alarm system alerted them to flames visible through a front window. Investigators say an unattended candle sparked the blaze, which caused heavy smoke damage and destroyed Christmas gifts but spared the rest of the home. Officials credit working smoke detectors, the alarm system, and mutual aid crews with preventing a much more serious fire.
