Ring Camera Helps Cops Foil Burglary Attempt At Home, Teen Arrested In Westchester

Rye Brook police were contacted by a resident who reported seeing an unknown person enter his home on his Ring camera.

RYE BROOK, NY — A would-be cat burglar missed a key detail when entering a Westchester home, but the homeowner didn't miss a thing, according to police.

On Wednesday, around 11 a.m., the Rye Brook Police Department was contacted by a resident who told them that through his Ring camera, he saw an unknown person enter his home which was unoccupied at the time.

Rye Brook Police patrol officers went to the address on Ridge Boulevard and found a 19-year-old intruder inside the home.

Officers arrested Jhon Stevan Amesquita-Sanchez, of Port Chester, and charged him with second-degree burglary. Amesquita-Sanchez was arraigned at Rye Town Court and is being held at the Westchester County Jail on $10,000 bail.
