Rye Brook Brownies Earn Badge While Helping Local Children in Need

It was a win-win when Brownie Troop #1905 from Rye Brook took a recent field trip to Kohl's where they shopped for items to be donated to Kid’s Kloset, a program of Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) that provides clothing free of charge to local children in need. According to their Troop Leaders, the young “fashionistas” had a blast selecting the outfits to be donated. More importantly, the girls felt good about the shopping spree knowing they were helping those in need. Each Brownie earned her Money Manager Badge by learning to work within a budget, stretch a dollar and increase purchasing power. “What these girls did proves you are never too young to learn the value of helping others as well as the value of a dollar,” said Stephanie Roth, WJCS Kid’s Kloset Director. “Kid’s Kloset will distribute the items the Brownies donated to local children whose families live below the federal poverty level.”  During the past year, WJCS Kid’s Kloset has provided clothing and essentials to more than 2,000 local children in need.  To learn more about Kid's Kloset, go towww.wjcs.com/ KidsKloset.
