RYE BROOK, NY — It's almost that time and the Rye Brook Police Department is back-t0 -school shopping for a few new crossing guards to help start the year off on the right foot.
With the new school year beginning next month, the Rye Brook Police Department is looking to hire a new part-time school crossing guard to help ensure the safety of school students.
Working hours are approximately 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., then 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Compensation is $18.50 per hour. The position will begin on the first day of school on September 6. Times may change according to the school schedule.

According to the job description posted by Rye Brook police, they are looking for individuals to direct school children and pedestrians to cross the street at the crossing signal. School crossing guards will control traffic as necessary, consistent with the safety of all concerned to assure safe crossing for kids.
