Rye Police Warn of 'Box of Rocks' Scams in Area

The Rye police department has issued the following alert: We have received reports of a fraud occurring in neighboring communities. Suspect(s) driving a gray mini-van (no license plate information available) have been selling televisions from the van. When the box is opened, it contains nothing but rocks. 

This is an old scam, but victims still fall prey to it. Remember -- if a deal seems too good to be true, it often is. Please call the Police Department if you encounter or observe suspicious activity. Thank you.
