Rye School Board & Budget Election Results Are In
The voters decided on the $111M Rye schools budget and which candidates will serve on the board of education.

RYE, NY — The ballots are in and voters have decided on the 2024 budget and school board.
Three seats up for election on the Rye City School District Board of Education.
The proposed spending plan of $110,556,311 was passed by voters. The new budget is 6.41 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to rise 6.55 percent, which will required a 60 percent voter approval.
"The school budget not only supports the academic development of our students, but also maintains the Board's commitment to upgrading and maintaining the District's facilities," school district officials said. "Safety and security have been a high priority for the past several years and the 2024-2025 budget funds completion of centralized state-of-the-art lockdown systems at all schools. Additionally, the budget will support much needed renovations of the high school wrestling room, gymnasium, and girls softball field."

Three board seats were up for election.
Matthew Schibanoff, Valerie Lapham and Callie Erickson (incumbent) were elected to those seats.
