120 Turkeys To Be Given Out On First Come, First Serve Basis In Brookhaven Town Monday

The holiday meal donation is part of a collaboration between the Lighthouse Mission and King Quality Roofing and Siding.

LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY —One hundred and twenty turkeys and fixings will be donated to families on Monday in Lake Ronkonkoma.

King Quality has donated the turkeys and 20 of its employees will volunteer in the distribution.
The business has donated Thanksgiving meals to the mission's Bellport-based mobile food pantry for the past 10 years, as part of King Quality Cares, the contractor's philanthropic arm dedicated to supporting charities and community organizations on Long Island.

King Quality Chief Executive Officer Jeff Brett said employees look forward to the tradition of handing out meals and helping make Thanksgiving "a little brighter for Long Island families."

"We’re honored to team up with Lighthouse Mission and support their meaningful work of not just providing food but also bringing hope to neighbors who need it most," he added.

The mission has distributed more than 4,000 Thanksgiving meals and turkeys to families, but the need continues to grow as more Long Islanders experience food insecurity, Pastor Jim Ryan said.

"We’re so thankful for King Quality’s annual commitment to provide meals and hope to neighbors in need this Thanksgiving,” he said. “This year, we’re seeing a surge in food demand across Long Island and encourage others to consider donating food or funds to help struggling families this holiday season and beyond."

The giveaway will kick off at 12:30 p.m. at 565 Portion Road.
