2 Sachem Students Tapped For Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

FARMINGVILLE, NY — Two Sachem high school students have been selected to play in Macy's Great American Marching Band in the 98th Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.
Sachem East senior, Jaden Rudnicki, a mellophone player, and North junior, Amanda Morda, a trumpeter, were two of around 185 students chosen across the U.S. to march in the parade, which will be watched by more than 2.5 million spectators along the parade route and an estimated 50 million TV viewers.
The pair are two of four students chosen locally.

Patchogue-Medford senior trumpeter Katie Curcio and junior percussionist Michael Russell have also been tapped to play in the band.
As part of the experience, the students will have the opportunity to visit some popular attractions in New York City, attend a leadership workshop, spend hours rehearsing, and celebrate Thanksgiving with their band members at a dinner dance.

The parade will be broadcast from 8:30 a.m. to noon on NBC.
