5 Things to Know This Week: January 2-8

There are many things happening in the Sachem community each week. Here's a look at a few going on this week:

1. : Sachem basketball legend Nicole Kaczmarski will have her No. 23 jersey retired at Sachem, Saturday, January 7 at 5 p.m. We'll have full coverage of the evening on @SachemPatch.

2. Sachem BOE Work Session: The Sachem Central School District Board of Education Work Session will take place Wednesday, January 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Administrative Annex at Samoset Middle School in Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

3. Curriculum Night: Curriculum Night for Samoset and Seneca Grade 8 Students and Parents 7 p.m. at North on Thursday, January 5.

4. Brookhaven Town Board Meeting: Will take place Thursday, January 5 from 5-10 p.m.

5. Islip Town Board Meeting: Will take place Thursday, January 5 at 10:30 a.m.
