5 Things to Know This Week: Sept. 12-18

There are many things happening in the Sachem community each week this summer, but here's a look at a few going on this week:

1. Brookhaven Planning Board: Head down to town hall Monday for a planning board meeting at 4 p.m.

2. SEPTA Bike-A-Thon Sign Up: Will take place at Hiawatha Elementary School, Thursday, Sept. 15 from 6-9 p.m.

3. Open School Night: Sessions will take place at all elementary schools from K-5. Times vary per building.

4. Registration ... for alternative evening high school in Sachem takes place this week at the guidance office in Sachem High School North from 5-8 p.m. all week.

5. On the gridiron: Sachem North hosts Northport Friday at 7 p.m., while Sachem East travels to Bay Port Saturday at 2 p.m. Previews and coverage to come later this week.
