Annual Chalk-Up Contest, Farmingville Street Fair Set For Oct. 3

Artists will have an eight-by-four-foot area to showcase their talents on Portion Road, and visitors will vote on the Best in Show.

FARMINGVILLE HILLS, NY — Artists are being sought for the 2021 Chalk-up competition at the Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce's 9th annual street fair on Oct. 3.

Each artist will get an eight by four-foot section to express themselves along Portion Road during the event, according to organizers. One drawing will be awarded Best in Show, street fair visitors will have the chance to vote using the chamber's website during the fair, organizers said.

Families will also be able to "chalk it up" while spaces are available, according to the chamber's website.

The street fair, which was started in 2012, will feature hundreds of vendors offering a variety of crafts, toys, jewelry, clothing, accessories, and other wares, the website states. There will also be live music, a classic car show, bounce houses, food stands, and a beer garden.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Portion Road between Leeds Boulevard and South Howell Avenue.
