LONG ISLAND, NY — The 15-year-old boy from Selden who investigators say stabbed his mother and killed his grandmother will likely be tried as an adult for murder and attempted murder, his attorney told News 12.
He is expected to appear before a judge on Friday for the first time since he was charged in the attack, the outlet reported.
The boy's name is being withheld due to his status as a minor.

At around 10 p.m., the 36-year-old mom ran out of her home on Old Town Road in Selden, and a passing driver stopped to offer help and she got into the vehicle where she called 911, Suffolk police said.
When officers arrived, they found the 56-year-old woman, inside the home with stab wounds, police said, adding that the grandmother was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's office, while the mother was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
The boy, who bolted from the home and was later arrested at Dare Road and Buckskin Lane in Selden at around 11:22 p.m., has been charged with first-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder.
Homicide Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer told Newsday the family had argued about something found on the boy's computer before the stabbing, and that the mother is "distraught" and in serious condition with stab wounds to the arms, back, neck, and face, though she is expected to survive.
He told News 12 that the knives were recovered at the scene, and declined to elaborate on what was on the teen's computer, according to the outlet.
