Brookhaven Accepting Nominations for Youth Bureau 2012 Volunteer Awards

Honorees will be recognized at the Bureau's 32nd Annual Volunteer Awards Ceremony in May.

The Town of Brookhaven’s Youth Bureau and the Brookhaven Youth Board are seeking nominations for individuals and groups who deserve recognition for volunteer work with Brookhaven’s young people. 

The honorees will be recognized at the Bureau’s 32nd Annual Volunteer Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 8 at Town Hall.

 “For over 30 years, the Youth Bureau has recognized hundreds of individuals and groups for their efforts to assist the youth in our community,” said Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko, in a statement. “This year’s honorees will join a prestigious group of volunteers who have made a significant impact and improved the quality of life for so many young people.”

If you know someone who you believe should be recognized for his or her efforts, either individually or as a group, please call or write to the Youth Bureau for a nomination form. Nomination forms can also be downloaded at www.brookhaven.org. Click the “Forms” button on the top menu bar, and then double-click Online Forms for Youth Bureau.

According to the town, the Bureau expects a great response and all nominations will be date stamped. The deadline for submitting nominations is April 11, with no exceptions.
