BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk County police officers made arrests ranging from assault to the illegal sale of two baby chicks over the past week, the department's blotter shows.
Here's a snapshot from April 15 to April 21:
- A Mastic woman was charged with second-degree assault after police say she broke into a Bay Shore house and beat up another woman on April 16.
Police say Brianna Jerome, 19, burglarized a home on Fourth Avenue, attacked another woman, beating her up, and damaged items in a bedroom stole a cell phone.

The woman was taken to local hospital for treatment.
Jerome, who later arrested in Islip, was additionally charged with petty larceny and second-degree burglary, court records show.

She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip and her bail was set at $25,000, $50,000 insured bond, or $150,000.00 partially secured surety bond, according to the records.
A temporary order of protection was also issued.
- A man was caught trying to sell two live baby chicks about a week and a half old on Smith Lane in Centereach on April 15, police say.
The 36-year-old Lake Grove man was charged with the selling of baby chicks, a misdemeanor.
The man is set to appear in court on May 3, court records show.
Further details were not available.
- A Selden man abandoned his dog in Kings Park on March 5, police said.
Roger Guzman Gomez, 43, was charged with abandonment of animals, according to police.
His court information was not available.
