Brookhaven Town Police Blotter: March 17 to April 21, 2025

This is a snapshot of some of the arrests the Suffolk County Police Department's officers have made across the township.

BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk's first responders have been kept busy this past month, according to the police department's logs.

— Here's a snapshot of some incidents and arrests:

BELLPORT

The driver of a BMW SUV failed to stop for an office that motioned then to do so on Thrasher Avenue in Bellport on April 17, police said. The officer initiated a traffic stop, and the driver refused and took off at around 8:30 p.m. No arrest has been made.

CENTEREACH

A 49-year-old Centereach man was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Thursday, police said.

He was found with a red plastic box, which is associated with a compressor that was stolen during the course of a home burglary.

EAST PATCHOGUE

A 53-year-old man was arrested Thursday after police say he used a metal bat to threaten someone in a parking lot on Medford Avenue. No one was hurt.

FARMINGVILLE

  • A fire broke out inside of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Radburn Drive home in Farmingville at around just after noon on March 19. No injuries were reported.
  • A man exposed himself after a urine test at Victory Recovery Partners in Farmingville on April 15, police said. After the test at around 12:37 p.m. at the Granny Road location, the man began yelling at staff and pulled his pants down, police said, adding that officers were called. No charges were filed in the case.

HOLBROOK

A motorist threatened another driver with a pocket knife during an exchange on Expressway Drive North in Holbrook on Friday, police said.

At around 4:30 p.m., a driver cut off another driver on Patchogue-Holbrook Road, then pulled their vehicle alongside the other, and waved a pocket knife, according to police.

No arrest has been made.

The incident has been classified second-degree menacing with a weapon.

PATCHOGUE

A 24-year-old Patchogue man was driving a 2011 VW sedan northbound on Falcon Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. on March 24 when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree, police said. No injuries were reported.

RIDGE

  • A 35-year-old man was driving a 2011 Ford pickup truck northbound on Woodlot Road when he swerved and struck a utility pole at around 3 p.m. on March 19, police said. No injuries were reported.
  • A 58-year-old man fell 10 feet off a roof on Pine Bark Drive in Ridge at around 5 p.m. on March 19, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

RONKONKOMA

  • A fire broke out at a Hawkins Avenue home at around 3 p.m. on March 19.
  • A woman was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital at around 11:30 a.m. on March 20 after police say she was burned by a chemical at a business on Julia Goldbach Avenue.
