Day Trips from Sachem: Madison Square Garden

Each week we'll take a brief look at a destination on or close to Long Island for our "Day Trips from Sachem" column.

We'll start basic for week one...

Destination: Madison Square Garden

Distance from Sachem community: 1:10 minutes, 51 miles or 1:19 train ride from Long Island Rail Road

Key attractions: You can catch a Knicks or Rangers game, a concert, grab lunch or dinner at the restaurant, catch a show or take a tour. Either way, you're in New York City, so you can walk outside the Garden and be occupied for hours as well.
