Verse in Person

Celebrate poetry at Sachem Public Library on the last Tuesday of each month. This month's reading will be held on September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Each month a guest poet presents a reading, after which the audience is encouraged to share original works at an open mic. This month's featured reader will be Claire Nicolas White. Ms. White was born in 1925 in the Netherlands and is a poet, translator and art critic. She has lived in St. James since 1947. The author of a novel, a biography, a memoir and a family history, Ms. White's most recent chapbook of poetry is entitled Illusive Harbors.  Special thanks to Jeanette Klimszewski and Mankh, members of the Performance Poets Association, for co-hosting this series.
