Holtsville FD Hosting Blood Drive for Injured FDNY Fireman

Long Island native badly burned in Brooklyn fire.

The Holtsville Fire Department is hosting a blood drive for FDNY fireman Robert Wiedmann on Monday, January 16 from 3-9p.m. at the main fire house.

The is also hosting its blood drive for Wiedmann on January 13 from 4-10 p.m.

Wiedmann, 38, of Islip Terrace and a member of Rescue 2, sustained second and third-degree burns over more than 50 percent of his body when his clothes went up in flames during a fire in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn on December 19.

The Holtsville Fire Department will be hosting a general blood drive in Wiedmann's name. He is still at the Burn Center in Manhattan undergoing a series of surgeries from the injuries.
