Sachem North students constructed a wall recognizing Sachem alumni who have served or currently serve in a branch of the U.S. military.

In honor of Veterans Day, Sachem High School North students in the Interact Club, led by adviser Christy Zummo, recently constructed a wall recognizing Sachem alumni who have served or currently serve in a branch of the U.S. military.

As part of their efforts, students contacted recent High School North alumni and those who responded were featured on the wall with their picture and branch of service. In addition to the wall, students and staff were able to show support for veterans in their life by writing their name on a yellow ribbon to be hung in a designated place in the building.

The wall is now a temporary addition to the building’s hallway, but the club plans to create a permanent fixture after compiling a full list of Sachem alumni who have served in the military, to recognize them for their selfless service to the county.
