Jury Convicts Long Island Man In Connection With Sexually Abusing His Children: DA
The man, now 68, abused three of his children, seven to 13 years old, over 13 years; as adults they reported him, Suffolk prosecutors say.
RIVERSIDE, NY — A Suffolk jury found a Selden man guilty of Course of sexual conduct against a child, and other related charges, for sexually abusing three of his children over 13 years District Attorney Ray Tierney's office said.
Between 1997 and 2010, the defendant subjected three of his children, who were aged seven to 13 years old, to ongoing sexual abuse, and they were unable to report the abuse to anyone because they were afraid of being taken away from the family and separated from their siblings, prosecutors said.
When they became adults, they reported the abuse to the police, according to prosecutors.

Tierney's office is not naming the defendant to protect the identities of the victims.
Tierney said that "no child should ever be subjected to the horrors of sexual abuse, let alone by their parent."

“I commend the victims for their bravery in testifying against their abuser, and I thank the jury for their careful review of the evidence," he added. "My office will always do everything within its power to seek justice for all victims of sexual abuse.”
The defendant, 68, was found guilty of three counts of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, and one count of first-degree sexual abuse. He faces up to 57 years in prison at the time of sentencing and will be required to register as a sex offender.
He is due back in court for sentencing on Jan.7.
He is being represented by Central Islip attorneys Ian Fitzgerald and Chase Brown.
