🌱 Lake Ronkonkoma Elementary School COVID Outbreak + WWII Burial

Lake Ronkonkoma's elementary school is in the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak. A Patchogue World War II sailor will finally have a local burial, after 80 years. And Long Island native Kevin Connolly is coming back to the area for a comedy show.

1. News 12 reports that there is a COVID-19 outbreak at a Sachem Central School District school. There have been 31 positive cases at Hiawatha Elementary School in Lake Ronkonkoma since Nov. 3. (News 12)
2. Patch checks out nonprofit Branches LI's upcoming new community center in Middle Island which will let the community organization offer classes and after school programs. (Patch)

4. A Moriches Elementary School student recently raised $4,300, which was tripled by an anonymous donor, by biking 20 miles in honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Ricky Taylor, a third grader, raised the funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. (Subscription: Newsday)
5. Pearl Harbor Sailor Fireman 3rd Class Kenneth L. Jayne will have a burial event at Cedar Grove Cemetery on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. to be put to rest in his family plot after 80 years of being missing in action. (GreaterBayShore)
