Lake Ronkonkoma Neighbors Say Barnyard Animals Are Creating A Nuisance: Report
Neighbors have complained about foul odors, flies, and rats.
LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Neighbors in Lake Ronkonkoma say a nearby property's growing collection of barnyard and exotic animals is producing strong odors, flies and other health concerns, CBS News New York reported.
Homeowner James Ramsden told CBS the operation — which he described as a three-acre game farm that has expanded since the 1990s - now includes miniature horses, cows, goats, llamas, alpacas, emus, and, at times, a buffalo.
"We are just inundated with flies," Ramsden told CBS News New York, and he said manure runoff has contributed to rat sightings, including a dead rat found in his pool.
