Long Island Shelter To Offer Low-Cost, Free Pet Adoptions Over Holidays
Adoptions will be $65 over St. Patrick's Day weekend, and there will be free adoptions during Easter week.
BROOKHAVEN, NY — The cats and dogs at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center all wish they had a home by now.
To help them out, town officials are offering low-cost and free adoptions at two holiday events in the next few weeks.
Adoptions will be $65 during a St. Patrick’s Day weekend event Saturday and Sunday, and there will be free adoptions during Easter week from March 25-31.

All adoptions during the special events include free flea and fecal, neuter or spay, heartworm test, vaccinations, microchip, license, and FIV/FELV testing.
Some of the pets available include, “Zuko,” “Bruce,” and “Squirt,” who are hoping to find their “forever home" soon.

The shelter and adoption center is located at 300 Horseblock Rd. in Brookhaven. It is open Monday through Friday from from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 631-451-6950.
