Man Killed By Drunk Driver Outside His Ronkonkoma Home: Police

A 33-year-old man was arrested after the crash Monday morning, police say.

RONKONKOMA, NY – A 64-year-old man was struck and killed by a drunk driver outside his Ronkonkoma home Monday morning, Suffolk Police said.

Eric Lindemann, 33, was driving a 2018 Kia southbound on Ocean Avenue when he veered off the roadway and onto the shoulder, striking Amanullah Aman outside of his home located at 2892 Ocean Ave. at about 11:40 a.m.

Aman was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Major Case Unit detectives charged Lindemann, of Holbrook, with DWI. Lindemann is being held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
