Man Took Photos Under A 13-Year-Old's Skirt While She Was Looking At Greeting Cards In A Suffolk Store: PD

He was arrested Tuesday, police say.

SELDEN, NY — A 13-year-old girl was browsing in the greeting card aisle of a Selden store recently when a man bent down and used his cellphone to take photos under her dress, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place on October 19 at about 2 p.m. The girl's father witnessed the incident and approached the man, who immediately fled on foot, police said.

The father then reported the incident to police.

Following an investigation by Sixth Squad detectives, Aqeel Ahmad, 53, of Selden, was arrested in his car at the intersection of College Road and Galaxie Lane in Selden on Tuesday at about 6:40 p.m., police said.

Aqeel was charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraignedat First District Court in Central Islip on October 29, police said.
