Police Release Details On Lake Ronkonkoma Motorcycle Crash
The motorcyclist was thrown into the road and struck by another vehicle after the initial crash, police say.

LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY – Suffolk Police have released details on a Lake Ronkonkoma crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist Sunday night.
According to police, a 55-year-old East Patchogue man was riding a 1993 Harley Davidson east on Portion Road, near Foster Road, when the motorcycle collided with a westbound 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by William Symons at approximately 8:50 p.m.
The man was thrown from the motorcycle to the roadway where he was struck by an eastbound 2008 Chevrolet Suburban.

The motorcyclist, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Symons, 61, of Ronkonkoma, and the Chevrolet were not hurt.
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
