Pedestrian Fatally Struck by SUV on Vets Highway
The 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital Monday night, police say.
HOLBROOK, NY – A 37-year-old man was struck and killed by an SUV on Veterans Memorial Highway in Holbrook Monday night, police said.
According to police, the man was crossing eastbound Vets Highway when he was struck by a 2015 Nissan Rogue being driven by a Lake Ronkonkoma woman at about 8:50 p.m.
The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported via Holbrook Ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Nissan was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed.

The Nissan was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
