Man Dies After Strike From Vehicle In Suffolk County: Police

UPDATE: The man, who has not been identified, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police say.

UPDATE 2:29 P.M.: A 48-year-old Medford woman was was driving a 2020 Toyota eastbound on Horseblock Road when her vehicle struck the man in the roadway in front of a business in the 900 Horseblock Road at 3:54 p.m. on Wednesday, Suffolk police said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at Stony Brook Hospital, according to police.

The woman's Toyota was impounded for a safety check, police said.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A man was struck by a vehicle and seriously hurt in Farmingville on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

He was struck on Horseblock Road, just west of North Ocean Avenue, at around 4 p.m., police said, adding that he was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition.

The man has yet to be identified, police said.

The female driver of the vehicle that struck him was not hurt, according to police.

Detectives from the 6th Squad in Selden are investigating, police said.
