PlayStation 5 Swiped From Walmart In Centereach: Police

The roughly $500 gaming system was taken at around 11 p.m. on Jan. 26, Suffolk police say.

CENTEREACH, NY — A male suspect swiped a PlayStation 5 worth around $500 from Walmart at the Centereach Mall on Jan. 26, Suffolk police said.

It was taken just before 11 p.m. from the store, which is located off of Middle Country Road.

In images from security video, the suspect can be seen wearing a tie-dyes hood, facial mask, light-colored pullover sweatshirt, and dark-colored pants.

It is the second time since the beginning of the year that a PlayStation has been swiped from local Walmarts.

On Valentine's Day, the gaming system was swiped from Walmart in Middle Island.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to arrests in the case.

Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app, which can be downloaded through the App Store, or Google Play by searching P3 Tips. Tips can also be submitted online at www.P3Tips.com.

All calls, text messages, and emails will be kept confidential, police said.
