Ronkonkoma Firefighter Loses Home in Blaze
A fundraiser has been started to "show our support to one of our dedicated volunteer firefighters and help him out in this horrific time!"
An online fundraiser has been started for a Ronkonkoma Fire Department firefighter who lost his home in a fire Wednesday afternoon.
"A dedicated and long time volunteer firefighter from our department has lost his house and nearly all of his belongings today due to a fire in his home," a GoFundMe fundraising page reads. "Fortunately he and his family were safe, as they were not home; however, everything they owned inside of the house has gone up in flames. He has given so much of his spare time throughout his 20+ year service to the Ronkonkoma Fire Department as well as the surrounding communities. Let's reverse the roles for a moment and show our support to one of our dedicated volunteer firefighters and help him out in this horrific time!"
Nearly $12,000 of a $15,000 goal has already been raised on the GoFundMe, which you can find here.
