The milestone was marked by a 5K race, fun run, a race for the buildings' mascots, and pep squad performances at "Sachem Day."

FARMINGVILLE, NY — The Sachem Central School District community celebrated its 70th year with Sachem Day to commemorate the milestone on Saturday at High School North, officials said.

The morning kicked off with a 5K race, followed by a fun run, a race for the buildings' mascots, and performances from the elementary schools' pep squads.

A portion of the proceeds from Sachem Day benefits the Sachem Parent Teacher Association Council Scholarship Fund.
